STEPHANIE R. AMIOTTE
Founder and Principal Attorney
Stephanie Amiotte is the founder, owner and lead attorney at Amiotte Law PC. She grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and attended undergraduate and law school at the University of South Dakota. She was a partner at a mid-size firm for 11 years, operated her own law firm for several years, then was a law partner in Georgia for four years in a large multi-state firm. After serving as a legal director for a non-profit civil rights organization in the Midwest, Ms. Amiotte has devoted her law firm to injury cases, divorce law, and mediating disputes.
Biography
Ms. Amiotte’s experience spans over 24 years and includes litigating cases involving injury, liability, divorce, family law, and criminal defense. She has handled trucking, motorcycle, and auto accident claims involving death, spinal cord, traumatic brain, medical malpractice, worker’s compensation, and other types of injuries. She has cumulatively recovered millions of dollars for her injured clients. Ms. Amiotte has successfully handled injury cases from a plaintiff and defense perspective and possesses valuable insight to navigate the complexities of insurance companies.
Ms. Amiotte has represented clients in divorces involving complex farm assets, business division, child custody and alimony claims. She is a trained guardian ad litem who is adept at handling family law matters skillfully in a manner that meets children’s best interests and protects parental rights.
Ms. Amiotte is also a skilled advocate. She has spoken before the United Nations in 2022 and 2023 and spoke at the White House on Indigenous rights in September 2024. Drawing from her diverse perspective, she offers mediation services to assist lawyers, agencies, tribes, companies, and individuals in resolving disputes. Ms. Amiotte mediates correctional healthcare, civil rights, nursing home, family and divorce law, resort and premises liability, medical malpractice, worker’s compensation, automobile and trucking injury cases.

Ms. Amiotte has received several awards and recognitions for her success in litigation throughout her career. Presently, she is ranked by Benchmark Litigation© as a Future Star. In the past, she has been recognized by state and national associations for her litigation skills in criminal and personal injury law.

Most recently, while practicing in Georgia, she served as the President of the Glynn County Georgia Bar Association and the Southern District of Georgia Federal Local Criminal Rules Revision Committee. In South Dakota, she served on the South Dakota and North Dakota Federal Public Defender Selection Committee, Board of Governors and was the federal Criminal Justice Act Panel District Representative for 7 years.
